Raisani

Raisani is a Brahui-speaking Baloch tribe in Balochistan. The leader of each tribe is called Sardar. The Raisani tribal chief is called the Chief of `Sarawan`.The present Chief of Sarawan and Nawab of Raisani Tribe is Nawab Aslam Raisani.The leader of each tribe is called Sardar. The tribe Brahvi (Baloch) The Raisanis are located in Mastung, Kahnak, Dulái, Bolan, Sibi, Harnai, Ziarat, Mitrhi and Afghanistan.The Raisanis who are settled in Ziarat speak Pashto. The principal sections into which the tribe is divided are the Ráhusainzai, Sirajzai, Rustamzai, Sahizai, with the exception of the Sardar Khéls, who live at Mithri in Kachi.

Their progenitor named Rais (Arabic for ruler) had five sons, Ráhusain, Siraj, Rustam, and Siáhi. From all the five names the sections are mentioned above. And the Rahussain is helder son of Rais Baloch.

The Raisani appear to have been in the country before the afghans rose to power in the 15th century, so its clear that Raisani tribe is living in Quetta and surroundings before the Afghans. The Raisani tribe played a great role in Blochistan, due to the bravery and wisdom of the tribe the Khan of Kalat gave them lands in Mungachar and Chappar and were afterward granted revenue-free grants. By their close conjunction with the latter, the Raisani have always held a dominant position in Brahuai-Baloch confederacy, and the Sirajzai, the section of the chief, have been conspicuous for the part they have played in Kalat history.
